Based full time in Merseyside this is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the CFO and offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial and commercial direction of a dynamic, ambitious organisation.

We're seeking an exceptional finance leader who combines technical excellence with strong commercial acumen and a passion for driving performance. This opportunity will suit an ACA-qualified finance professional who trained within Big 4 and has subsequently moved into commercial finance role in industry.

As Finance Director, you will lead the finance function whilst acting as a strategic partner to the CFO and wider leadership team. You'll provide robust financial insight, challenge business performance, improve decision-making, and help drive operational efficiencies across an international business platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, ensuring strong controls, governance, compliance, and reporting standards.

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance reporting.
• Act as deputy to the CFO when required.
• Deliver meaningful commercial insight and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, sales, commercial, and international teams to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitability.
• Improve financial processes, reporting capability, systems, and business performance management.
• Support international growth initiatives, investment decisions, pricing strategies, and commercial projects.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Present financial performance and business insights at senior leadership and board level.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• ACA qualification training within a Big 4 accountancy firm
• A strong foundation in FP&A, commercial finance before progressing into a senior finance leadership role.
• Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.
• Experience operating within a fast-paced, growing, international, or multi-site business environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
