Capital Investment Finance Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced Interim Capital Investment Finance Business Partner to join a business located in North Liverpool on a 6-month temporary contract. The role will focus on evaluating a portfolio of technology-led initiatives, including systems improvements and automation opportunities, to determine their financial viability and strategic value.


Working closely with IT, Finance, and business stakeholders, you will assess proposed initiatives, build robust costings, quantify expected benefits, and produce clear recommendations to support decision-making on whether initiatives should proceed.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review and assess a range of IT and technology initiatives, including systems enhancements, process automation, and digital improvements

  • Develop detailed cost models, including implementation, licensing, support, and ongoing operational costs

  • Identify and quantify financial and non-financial benefits, such as efficiency gains, cost savings, risk reduction, scalability, and service improvements

  • Produce cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and business cases to support investment decisions

  • Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, assumptions, risks, and dependencies for each initiative

  • Compare alternative solutions or approaches where appropriate and provide clear recommendations

  • Support prioritisation of initiatives against the available IT budget

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

  • Ensure analyses align with broader business strategy and technology roadmap

Skills & Experience


  • Proven experience in IT investment analysis, business case development, or technology transformation roles

  • Strong understanding of systems improvement, automation, and digital initiatives

  • Experience building financial models, cost estimates, and ROI analyses

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear commercial and financial insights

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively
